Community Farm
Welcome to Grange Community farm; we are delighted to introduce you to the animals who have joined the Grange Family. Our pupils are very active in caring for them and have helped name many of our animals. Whether it is a quick chat with the pigs at playtime, or a formal lesson, learning to care for the sheep, everyone has a favourite animal interaction!
We are proud that all our pupils can get to know our animals and enjoy their company. Pupils can also gain animal care qualifications to help them in their future careers, whilst enjoying the calming atmosphere of relaxing with the animals.
As we expand our farm, we would be very grateful for any donations of money or equipment. If you know anyone who can support us, please email andrea.foster@biltt.org
Our Animals
Glyn, our friendly Border Collie, loves meeting pupils and playing football.
Nutmeg and Sunny are our curious and gentle ponies, while Kune Kune pigs Kai, Ari, Presley, Priscilla and Pixie love exploring and searching for treats.
Gertie and Pickle are playful sisters who enjoy plenty of attention, and Golden Guernsey goats Hazel, Crumble and Bracken are always keen to investigate their surroundings.
Our fluffy Valais Blacknose sheep are Oreo, Sooty, Sweep and Marmite. Our chickens include rescued hens and television stars featured in Worzel Gummidge.
The farm is also home to quails Itsy and Ditsy; rabbits Pumpkin, Clover, Marshmallow, Strawberry, Daisy, Hazel, Fiver, Buddy and Prim; gerbils Spring, Autumn and Winter; degus Willow and Wisp; guinea pigs Teddy, Yogi and George; and Bob, our 20-year-old Horsefield tortoise.
We are a small school community farm who is establishing a farm that will benefit our pupils and the wider community. If you would like to sponsor an animal or to find out more information about this please email andrea.foster@biltt.org
