Online Safety

Online Safety is an integral part of children’s education in today’s digital world and is embedded in their learning at school.

We also want to help our parents and children improve their own understanding of online issues so they can learn to use the internet and all digital media in a safe and secure way.

At School

As part of our curriculum, children access the internet during teacher-supervised lessons only. We believe it is a valuable tool for learning and development, and we take steps to ensure it is used safely.

Our internet provider uses filtering systems to block inappropriate content. At the start of each year, all classes learn about online safety and potential risks. Pupils also sign an Acceptable Use Agreement to confirm they understand how to stay safe online.

Supporting Your Child At Home

The internet plays an important role in children’s lives, offering opportunities to learn, create and connect. However, it also presents risks such as cyberbullying, contact from strangers and exposure to inappropriate content.

You can support your child by:

  • Talking about the websites and apps they use
  • Discussing how they stay safe online and what is suitable to share
  • Ensuring they know how to report concerns or block content
  • Encouraging open conversations and shared learning online
