Maths

The Maths curriculum focuses on developing the practical numeracy skills students need for everyday life, future employment and greater independence. Lessons are designed around real-life situations, helping students to apply mathematical skills such as managing money, budgeting, measuring, handling data, telling the time and solving problems confidently in a range of contexts.

Students follow an individual learning pathway that reflects their current attainment and future aspirations. Students will continue to work on consolidating Entry Level 3 qualifications (AQA or Pearson), while others will progress to Functional Skills Level 1 (Pearson). Some students will continue with or work towards a GCSE (AQA) in Maths.

The curriculum aims to build confidence, resilience and mathematical fluency, ensuring students develop the skills needed to make informed decisions and successfully manage the demands of adult life, further education and employment.
