Employability

The Employability Qualification is designed to help students develop the essential skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for success in the workplace. Through a double lesson each week, students will build confidence in a range of transferable employability skills, including teamwork, communication, time management and problem-solving.

The course supports learners in identifying suitable career pathways, understanding workplace expectations and preparing for employment or further training. Topics include understanding mindset, behaving appropriately at work, managing time effectively, problem-solving skills for work, working as part of a team, deciding on the right job, looking for employment opportunities, preparing for interviews, and understanding health and safety in the workplace.

Students will work towards the Gateway Certificate in Employability Skills at Entry Level 3 or Level 1, providing them with a recognised qualification that supports progression into employment, further education and vocational training.
